IsLand Bar
IsLand Bar is a performance project that blends cocktail-making with storytelling.
Artists craft signature drinks from their “islands,” weaving personal histories into each cocktail while exploring cultural identities.
Coming Soon to a Festival Near You
In 2026, we will explore stories of displacement with migrant artists from Asia living in Europe, connecting personal experiences to themes of identity and family.
Through intimate performances and shared drinks, we create a safe space for togetherness and understanding.
Production
Co-produced by European festivals and led by orangcosong, this new iteration will feature six to eight migrant artists based in Europe.
The performance can be staged in any atmospheric venue with basic utilities. Artists will develop their work online before a final week of in-person rehearsals, with a cocktail master helping create both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
IsLand Bar is an open-source project by Taipei Performing Arts Center (TPAC), first initiated as an experiment in ADAM (Asia Discovers Asia Meeting for Contemporary Performance) 2017, and commissioned in Taipei Arts Festival 2018 led by principal artists Scarlet Yu (HK/DE), Chikara Fujiwara (JP) and Lee Ming-Chen (TW).
